Knowing- a poem
By Tony DeLorger © 2012
Eclipsed by that spire in my heart,
where the soul sees beyond the now,
where truths are known before cognizance,
and understanding is driven to quiet.
I rest in awe of what is beyond me,
what works without my cause,
and with which, if I choose,
is within my grasp to imbibe.
What I know comes from reason,
but knowing is a step beyond,
a soul taken to acceptance,
and a natural flow of faith.
It is only in serenity,
that knowing can emerge,
can surface into the realm of consciousness,
and open a heart from the nudging of a soul.
It is only with the displacement of ego,
that the stream of past knowledge,
can imbue the future,
from the quiet and accepting consideration of omniscience.
Knowing is a connection to the source of beginnings,
the quintessential heart of the heart,
ever offering truth unencumbered,
and the understanding that comes from selflessness.
