LIKE THE FLOWERS YOU GAVE

Like the flowers you gave~

You came with a bound~

You made my heart hopeful~

As my senses were to astound.

Pink and lavender~

The fresh petals remind me~

As your calls came~

I became more intended~

Sunshine you nicked name me~

But perfection I could not be.

Oh woe is the heart that looked forward to thee~

Confused I saw you were after the meeting~

Sweet, honest, and forthright I be~

But what good did it do to have you leave me.

Like the petals to your flowers~

One by one the calls will be dropped~

I at a loss as our friendship changes its trod.

Drop of a petal my heart yearns to thee~

Drop of another petal I must protect and flee~

Drop of a petal lonely I be~

Drops of petals until there lonely there is only me.
