Lil' Texas 'Tonk
By: Wayne Brown
Even at a distance, the neon shines
Like diamonds in a goat’s ass
Yet those bright lights ain’t nothin’
Compared to the magnetism
Which you exude
My lil’ Texas Tonk
You are like a bad old habit
Just a bitch to break
You're chocked full of sin and women
Lord don’t I know it
Lord don’t I love it?
My lil' Texas Tonk
There’s that old mechanical bull
Get me drunk I’ll try to ride it too
The girls like them eight second boys
At least some time
They’ll be here tonight
My lil’ Texas Tonk
Spendin’ my hard-earned pay
Buyin’ long-necks for me and the girls
We dance around; tease and play
Now and again I get a lil’ bit lucky too
These cowgirls ain’t bad
My lil’ Texas Tonk
Lots of heartbreak been in your door
Lots more crawled right back out
This ain’t no place to fix the heart
It just goes numb a while
Distractions are your business
My lil’ Texas Tonk
Sawdust on the dance floor
Lights burnin’ low and dim
Them cowgirls leanin’ at bar
Beer’s cold and colder still
My lil’ Texas Tonk
Stay for the late night fun
Last call’s when we cut ‘em out
We’ll corral us a doggie
Take her back to the bunk
Play around for a while
My lil’ Texas Tonk
God would be doin’ a favor
If he’d burn your ass down
My retirement is spent in beer
My joy knows your bar in my back
You’re a lovely little one, you are
My lil’ Texas Honky-Tonk Bar
