A Sad Message

I have just received a message today from my beautiful Irish friend Aoife. A sad message about the death of a very kind woman whom I met in Ireland. A woman whom I learned to love and care. A woman whom I treasured as a Lady. A Lady who will be miss not only by me but by her children, grandchildren, friends and neighbours. Here´s to you Annie. I know, you will be in heaven watching over us.

Lady Annie

Lady Annie

The first time

We met each other

We didn´t know

How we talked

To one another.

You were so reluctant

Never knew what

To think of me

You were so shy

Not knowing what

To say.

Days and weeks passed by

We became good friends

We talked and laughed

About the hundreds of birds

Resting on the grass

Of your garden.

You were standing at the window

Watching the birds for me

With joyful eyes

Brighter smiles

While I went across the streets

To get my camera for our feasts.

Lady Annie

Do you still remember the time

When I washed your hair

And you really have to bend down

On the sink for me to reached

Your forehead?

We laughed so loud

With tears in our eyes

Our tummys aching

From the joy

And happiness

That we had shared.

You know Lady Annie

In a way

You remind me

Of my granny

Who passed away

When I was in another country.

Every time I met you

I prepared something to pamper you

Massage your hands or feet

Washed and combed your hair

Manicured or pedicured you

I loved it when you were happy.

Lady Annie

I´m sorry I have left you

We were both sad

We cried together

When we said goodbye

But I had to go.

Lady Annie

The laughter we had shared

Every time we met

Will always be with me

Forever will be in my heart

I´m glad to have met you.

Goodbye

My Lady Annie

I´m sure you will be

Happy in the hands of

God in Heaven

Goodbye

To the family of Annie, My heartfelt CONDOLENCE

Morning Thelma.

A beautiful poem and tribute to Lady Annie.

Your photo of you both reminds me of my mother that was also born in Ireland. The first time my wife met my mother in 1990 she whispered to me your mum looks like "The Queen Mum" (god bless her). Your Annie reminds me so much of our gracious Queen Elisabeth 2.

Lovely poem Thelma.

Dusseldorf is cold and wet hope you have it better where ever you are in Germany.

Schön wochenende.

Hi Ghaelach!

Thank you for your wonderful comment and for sharing me your story about the Queen Mom. I appreciate that.

Yep, I heard that Germany is cold and wet now. It will be colder soon. I´m lucky I spend winter in the Philippines and I don´t have to shiver.

Auch Schönes Wochenende.

So strange that I should read your beautiful poem today. I just got word that an old friend died just yesterday. It is so sad to lose friends. I'm at that age when more and more of my old friend are leaving this world.

Voted this UP, and shared.
