Life Given

Imagine if you will

a sight of endless blankness

with only will to place

upon this empty page

begging only for a story

to be told through its being

and in it, everything

and through it, anything

within it, all the colors

inside it, every dream

Given once

we sat so still

under perfect sunlight

but our bodies cast shadows

and the darkness within them

took a new form

and all despair sprang forth

The stars consume themselves

swallowing their own seemingly

endless source of energy

and when they finally end

a certain part of the night's canvas

is erased and set to blackness

but just beyond the flash

we barely seem to notice

such vast ripples of light

expand across lakes of imagination

infinitely creative is He

who spoke them into being

Absolutely excellent, Ben...sounds like something Rod Serling would impart at the beginning of a "Twilight Zone" episode. I really liked it. WB

Absolutely beautiful Ben, I love how you opened it; strong and powerful as ever.

I am glad you're writing, Ben, if in a writing metamorphism following subjection to extreme heat and pressure, perhaps. . . .

". . . begging only for a story to be told through its being. . ."

SO good to see you!
