Life's Magic Moments. To my Dear, Dearer, Dearest Friend, Nellieanna Hay.

Magic Moments

I heard the cry; felt the heartbeat

Of the new-born beating,

And was filled with deep reverence for my Queen.

Transfixed by the magical excellence of the Taj Mahal;

I felt enraptured by Love’s greatness in man.

I saw the Light of Beauty, shining

In the shadows of the downtrodden,

And I wept with Delight,

For the unfathomable mystery of my Beloved.

The Light of The Soul

Magic Moments, like the enchanting symmetry

Of a butterfly, balancing daintily on petunias,

So delicate… so mysteriously charming,

Like the peerless radiance of the rainbow.

They linger in our memory like nerve fibres –

Blueprints of a generation handed down;

Endorsing the soft glowing fragrance of a smile –

When I think of the soulfulness,

The quintessential charisma of Thy sweet gaze,

I feel the eloquence of Your grandeur,

Deep inside my burning Heart.

Thy sweet glance becomes a vibrant prayer,

Blessed and made sacred, by the Light of The Beyond.

It is then I hear the minstrels sing from Heaven,

And my Soul stirs, inspired by the sanctity,

Of Your splendour, blending in my Core.

I heard the cry; felt the heartbeat

Of the new-born beating,

And was filled with deep reverence for my Queen.

Sweet Love, my blue-eyed Damsel,

‘Tis awesome the way You do what You do,

And I’m delighted for those magic moments with You.

Beauty

“Inside each one of us is a beautiful flower garden. This is the garden of the Soul. With each lesson we learn, the garden grows. As we learn together, our individual gardens, form a tranquil paradise.” _ Sri Chinmoy

Of beauty and of tranquility. I can always go to those moments and keep my mind from racing and still my heart. We are truly blessed to have this lifetime.

You're very quick, Bro. Beauty indeed!! I found several of my Guruji's on Beauty, but chose one. The poetry of Hafiz and Rumi are also unparalelled. Gratitude, Bro.

I like this one. Reminds me of a child's innocence. That's my favorite part of playing with children - showing them the magic moments in nature and life. Today I saw a bird chasing a grasshopper around my feet in a parking lot. Made me wish for a minute the kids were with me to see it. The little bird was ever aware of the cars moving around it and even my feet, and it didn't seem to mind me walking. It just kept after it's prey. Something magical and comical about things like that.

Yes, something magical and comical too, that spontaneous innocence, irrespective of the threat to life. Nature is always high on my list or probably most people, for that matter. Thank you so much, shanmarie.

Wonderful imagery throughout.

For me, I especially loved the line..."endorsing the soft flowing fragrance of a smile"...I personally love a great smile. A smile reaches every corner of the world and speaks every language in the most simplest and direct way. Thankyou manitita.

I can hear "Jay and the Americans" singing "This Magic Moment" in the background while I read this beautiful piece of literature/poetry. :) The perfect way to begin my day.

This is beautiful. Reading this poem, I kept the image of the little baby in the accompanying photo. I love the innocence shared here. What a lovely dedication.

Yes, Threekeys, you are right. It's like music. Another language of the Soul. Thank you so much.

Thanks Norine. The third line immediately recognises God the Supreme and the whole poem is representative of reverential awe. I use capital letters in key places, such as for 'Thy,' 'Thou,' and 'You.' 'Queen. Sweet Love and Damsel, all refer to God.

I am a mystical and esoteric poet,and we use this style a lot! Actually you are familiar with my Q's and A's and much of my work. I express varying moods for God: Longing, inner experience, cry for help... and more.

I am a spiritual writer, and for me God is first, second and last. It is just that I express this in the way of service. I wish to Love the world not change it. This is God's job. Thank you so much.

Shanmarie, I thank you. Much Love, my Sweet.

Bill, so sweet, so charming. Now I can just about hear them too. Much Love, my Dear brother.

Yes, MarleneB, I like the baby too. Suffer little children to come unto me... you know the rest I'm sure. So much innocence, sweetness, purity ... are you well, my Dear. God's Peace and Love to you and your husband.

Hello Manatita! You always know when to ask that question. Yes. I am well now. Struggling with some issues, but not worried because I have a feeling deep down inside that all will be taken care of. I think sometimes, the Lord knocks me down a notch just so I can get some rest. I do believe my latest setback is just that.

Ha ha. I'd forgotten that you have the book. Yes, read it. Chapters 10 to 13 are real spiritual gems and the Chapter called A Glimpse Into Sri Chinmoy's Vision on America, is truly illumining. But yes, read the whole book. Ask me what you do not understand, not that you are not a brilliant woman, but spiritual language is not always straight-forward. Much Love.

A beautiful poem and a very nice quote from Sri Chinmoy. Each one of us has a beautiful garden of flowers inside our heart. Very true. But, the fragrance comes out and fills out the world only when he realises that hidden beauty and shares it.

It's a wonderful tribute to our great, noble, blessed lady Nellieanna.

Dear, dear Manatita. Thank you. What a lovely poem and tribute, tracing life’s magic moments of the soul from the newborn to the elderly and capturing the life-essence of both, then leading us through flowers and butterflies, through life’s highlights and its challenges. So wonderful that you included these poems of Hafiz and the haunting music of Rumi.

You have once more created a treasure to lift the heart and have drawn attention to the magic all around us, the magic which embraces and engulfs!

A steaming mist,

Streaming all around;

Shimmering, glimmering

Against its verdant,

Flow'r-strewn ground.

Halo of light

Straying to and fro;

Swaying, so to tease;

Blissfully playing.

Joyfully frolicking

In slightest summ’ry breeze.

Touching tenderest

Dreams and fancies;

Magic sweetness

Conspires to tell,

Compelling, completing,

Delighting lovers in its spell.

You’re too young to remember the lovely song, “It’s Magic”, sung and made famous by Doris Day. My George was in the audience n the mid-1940s when she sang it on stage in Chicago. He said that when she began singing, the large noisy audience became so still that, as the saying goes, you could have heard a pin drop. If I may, - here it is: https://youtu.be/JRp1LZOk05o

I have seen her in films and may know the song. Both her and Julie Andrews were blessed indeed!

Your poem is exquisite. Simplicity and power with a touch of sublimity, blending well.

Great analysis of the poem. It is all His, of course. On train. Coming from worship. Will look up your link when I get home. Gratitude... Much.

I was too presumptuous saying you were too young to know! I was surely thinking I was mentioning someone from way back in my day who was less likely to be generally known now. We are so blessed to have access to music from way, way back even earlier than that, and even remastered when it's needed to give it crystal clarity! How great that we have a full access to music from almost every era! It all says so much about its own era.

I'm glad you DO know of her and her music, along with Julie Andrews. Both had angelic voices.

Thank you. I'm glad you like my poem and my response to yours. Hugs.

Just lovely and just right for a very talented, loving lady with a heart of gold. Her name should have a title - Queen Nell.

Interesting. What's the word when a word can have two meanings? 'pun' is it? Or a homonym. The latter is better. I use 'Queen at the end of my third line. I'm actually referring to God, but yes, it could fit my Dear Nellieanna very much. Thank you so much, Gypsy.
