Light Banishes the Darkness
Darkness falls across the land
Creeping crawling with a plan
Rips open in time and space
Evil enters unto this place.
Things not seen since time began
Resembling neither beast nor man
Swarming on the lonely house
Attempting the light to douse.
Inside the simple cabin sits,
A spinster, wrapped in bits
Of cloth and fabric, leaves and herbs
Looking like trash upon the curbs
Raising her hands unto the sky
Words of power from her fly
Candle light burns and glows
As power from her flows and flows.
The light takes on a form of its own
Billowing from the fragile crone
Exploding from the cabins cracks
Twisting and powerful it acts!
Into the evil forms it slams
Like water pouring from the dams
Banishing them back into the dark
Holding till the morning lark.
Daylight breaks across the sky
The crone lets out a rattled sigh
Another night she held at bay
The evil that hides, from the day.
