Like a Child I'll Dance

Like A Child

Sometimes I doubt

And I don't know what to do

Please help me to see

You are always there for me

There is nothing that I fear

When you lead the way

Like a child I'll dance

And let you hold my hand

Lord, all my life

May I be like a child

With unconditional faith

To trust in all your ways

Thank you so much. A friend of mine actually had me turn it into a song, so it has special meaning to me in that respect. Glad you enjoyed it!

This is lovely! I see how it could be a song. Trust replaces doubt and fear and lifts our spirits so that we feel we can dance!!

How nice of you to say. :) I was actually kind of surprised to have turned this one into a song, but a friend saw it as such so it now is set to a simple melody for worship. It has extra special meaning to me for that reason.

Thanks again for your encouragement. I hope to have the pleasure of reading or hearing some of yours soon.

By the way, did I mention I grew up in Champaign-Urbana?

How wonderful that it is now a song! It took me longer than I had hoped to get back online today, but I really enjoyed reading your 2 lyric poems here.

I am definitely thinking more about sharing my songs now because of our conversation...I haven't done much songwriting in over a year, because most of mine were written and performed while I was involved with a church that I have now left (several of the songs were worship-based), so revisiting them is a bit painful. I have to figure out the best way to get them from notebooks into a shareable form....I'm a better pianist than singer, but only I know how they go so I have to sing them to get them out. :-) If/when I do, I promise I will let you know. You are encouraging me, so thank you.

I don't think I knew you were from IL! I have been that far south at least once, LOL. It is such a small world. I grew up in NJ but I've been in Illinois since 2000. I have never been to Texas but I was actually born in Arizona (my parents were from NJ originally and moved back there when I was 2).

Yes, it surely is a small world. I left IL for TX in 2000 after I graduated. I have been to Chicago a few times, but I am not sure I could live there. People don't know how I can stand driving in the DFW metroplex, but I tell them to try driving in Chicago! People used to honk impatiently there before the light would even turn green.

I'm so glad you find me to be encouraging. That is mutual. Perhaps one day we can write one together. :)

2000---wow. I'm in the suburbs outside of Chicago; I do not enjoy city driving either but I like being close enough to visit. Thanks again---talk to you soon! :-)
