Lilac Publishing Makes Its Debut
Our First Book Debuts
Dream Come True
Opening a publishing company was a pipe dream. It was never going to happen. It would not have the money or following. WRONG!!!!!
Rebecka Vigus has a following. Publishing her second book in the Macy McVannel series was a blessing. She even had pre-paid orders.
Her books arrived today. She has one book signing in a couple of weeks and is working on a second. Word is all over Facebook and Twitter. Now it's here, too.
This is the first of many books to come from us, carrying the Lilac Publishing logo. I am excited.
What's Next?
Next is writing press releases and getting it out there. We are looking at a couple of places that might interview Rebecka. We are promoting her like crazy. Because we know book three is next.
We are also wining and dining a new author, in the hopes she will sign with us and we will be able to get her book out before the end of the year. We are excited about this.
We are also putting together submission guidelines. Along with setting up a website. We need a web presence which we don't currently have. It's time to get on that.
There is no dust settling here. We will take a moment to celebrate then get back on the job. We have to stay at it or get lost in the world of small presses. We want to be a major small press before we are done. That original pipe dream is a reality, now is the time to take it to it's full potential.
We also are looking at a writing team and hope they will get their mystery written so we can get it out in 2014. Rebecka Vigus is busy penning Sanctuary the third book in the Macy McVannel series and we look to have that out in early 2014.
We are also in the process of putting Rebecka Vigus' first three novels into ebook format. She also has a short story we are hoping to get out in ebook format only. There is much to be done. Never a dull moment.
The Future
We plan to put out two books per year at the moment, so we are on the lookout for well written fiction. We do have an editor on staff and she is awesome.
All books we publish go through at least two editings. One in house with suggestions and comments. One by our hired editor with suggestions, comments and critique. She often will write a review when done. That's always a bonus.
Polish up your work, look for our announcement that we have gone live on-line and will be taking submissions. Yours might be the next project we take on.
Happy writing.
