Lingering Deception

Thought we were friends

or at least

not enemies.

You got your way

time and time again

were allow to falsify

and fictionalize

for your benefit

to suit your needs

everyone bending over backwards

to pacify and nullify

make you feel better

so you could leave.

Yet here you are

hanging around

through misguided steps

and charmed lies.

You didn’t have to struggle

sacrifice

to rebuild

or start something new.

Your words by design

meant to hurt

organize those who hate

to take action against

and tear down

what you know nothing of.

The purpose for your deeds

only you can know for sure

many have tried to be your friend

only to have you walk away

get nothing in return.

You have made your point

drawn the line

designed to be apart

no longer

a part

of what we all are.

We fight the fight

stand for truth and justice

while you go about

doing what it is

you do.

Owning the freedom

you say you craved.

We don’t bother you

or ask you to be

what you no longer want.

Time keeps moving forward

no need to jeopardize

or rain on our parade.

Let your words

match your actions

just let us be

so you can heal

and finally be free.

Extremely well written, excellent! I'm learning that I no longer wish to be around anyone who causes emotional damage. I have found the more you try to bring others up, the more they bring you down. Live your life! The clock is ticking for all of us! Blessings, Sparklea :)

Certainly makes a statement in support of speaking truthfully in your relationships. Interesting read!

Thanks for the comment teaches12345. I think that if you aren't honest about what is important and how you really feel the relationship is not going to be as good as it could be.
