Lions, Friends And Enemies
The wind is sweeping through the wall
you built to protect us from the angry winds
of impolite lions screaming at us.
Today I saw those lions with their
big, brown claws scratching on the screen
when the TV was turned on.
It was in a place you and me had never been before,
somewhere on the island where the future
still is history, today it's history.
The sweet reality is close to you
and burning behind the bricks
in that wall, as time and eagles fly by.
It sure was a time nobody could
talk about today, in the backyard with
so many imaginary friends or enemies.
Nobody knows who they are
anymore, those enemies, friends, enemies
sharing a bottle of blue wine with you.
Why Did I Write This Poem?
Break of Dawn has written a hub about the Swedish poet Tomas Tranströmer, who won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2011. Break of Dawn inspired me to read Tranströmer's poems. They are fantastic! His poems has inspired me to write this poem. If you have read any other of my poems, you can see that this is very different from them. Thank you for inspiring me Break of Dawn!
