Little One...A Vampire's Poem

Yes come to me, little one

Dance a little closer

Your smile and body brazen

Totally unaware of the danger

Your eyes so easily entranced

I don’t even have to try

You were mine at first glance

There will be no time for goodbyes

Yes follow me, little one

Deep into the night

Too naïve too frighten

You should have stayed in the light

Your heart full of foolish dreams

Your head full of lies

Yet all I anticipate are your screams

And fear in your eyes

Yes leave now, little one

I'm no vampire with a heart

It’s best you move faster. Run!

I am coming to tear you apart

Your screams a beautiful symphony

As into the night I roar

Your heart pounding as you flee

But I want so much more

Yes hide quickly, little one

As I hunt in the dark

Hours before the coming sun

To find you, my bleeding mark

So foolish to believe

That the darkness could be claimed

Such a concept I won’t conceive

Vampires can’t be tamed

Yes scream for me, little one

There is nowhere else for you to go

This is a game only I could have won

But I promise to kill you slow

This one's really good. Descriptive and dark (I'm always a fan of the creepy stuff). But this one also reminds me of how corrupted people will feed on the innocent and naïve, so it definitely parallels the real world.

Thanks so much, I was a bit shy at first posting my darker fictional poems, but happily i am not the only fan of creepy stuff...

Monsters of fiction are in someways always a representation of the evil found in mankind, and its always the weak who suffer first, sadly.

thanks again for taking the time to comment on my poems :)

I loved it to, I could smell the fear of the hunt and the blood curdling terror of the victim as the vampire seeks out in the night. Yes naivety is tested and taken advantage of in this scenario. Bravo.. rated UP

so many times in life, we can become too familiar with a thing, losing all natural fear of it... that is dangerous, i hope this poem serves as a reminder, Vampires are meant to be feared not owned...

I am so glad that you liked it, thanks for the rate up :)

...maybe the greatest line of all time - I promise to kill you slow - that's even better than Folsom Prison Blues when Johnny sings I killed a man in Reno just to watch him die ..... lol lol - you inspire the epigramman greatly - maybe he should stop writing the lovey dovey stuff and get back into the macabre again - in fact I am working on a vampire theme right now - and your very awesome piece has really put me in the mood - bravo!!!!!

*Blushing* wow to be compared to a great song writer like johnny cash, compliments like that will go straight to my head :)

I really enjoy your "lovey dovey " stuff but have to admit the thought of a vampire theme coming from you has me quite excited, will definitely be keeping my eye out for that :)

I am soo glad you liked this , its always a pleasure to see that you have been to visit :) thank you

I love your macabre works, the spiral end ... I could almost here the instrumental playing as the chase began and was coming to a close. No disney film but definitely one well ended.

Love your style keep it coming

The lure of the night is hard for most to resist. To give in to your darkest desires is forbidden yet the feeling is oh-so-very amazing that you simply can do nothing to stop it. amazing.

I am really glad you liked this, I think we all yearn for that freedom that the beasts of the night so easily claim, to be a master of your own world with no consequences would be very tempting indeed...so glad that you took the time to read this one :)

my highlight, I have the poster that your promoting "vampire girl" by victoria frances above my place of rest, where i lay my head at night or day on a 30 hour schedule... so i am "half vampire"

I just found a link here from a suggestion...

I'll promote a similar poem i just made with pictures to illustrate my characters delusions... Vampire Haiku (13ofthem) "Your count is numbered" is the name of the poem...

I always vote up when i give criticism, because most things i just don't care about, but i like this topic, the mindset of vampire

you have a lot of gimmicky expressions and forced rhymes... poetry is about packing the lettered art paintings with significance, and feel for the reader...

(note how in this context: vampire subject, feel could be also seen as fear if breezed over with the subject in mind) there is much art in poetry, just as much as a vitoria fraces painting

Having a deep love for vampires and many other things that go bump in the night, I myself enjoy reading and writing about their many different facets .

Having only been writing poetry for a year now I will admit that I have a lot to learn. Thank you for your very honest feed back I am looking forward to reading your work

I find hints of Coleridge, greatest master of the supernatural. Very dark, it requires great prowess to execute such a haunting and chill poem! It's design is marvellous and the words just fall so smoothly into place. Great poem by a greatly skilled person! I cannot honestly say I liked it but I enjoyed it, there is no denying that this is a magnificient work, just too dark for me! Voted awesome!

I am thrilled that you liked my poem so much considering it was a dark look into the true evil of the night. I am flattered so much by your words and reference to Coleridge.

It always amazes to have such nice things said...thank you
