Live Like A Cat

Fascinated by everything

Driven by affection

Not shy about anything

When tired just dropping wherever she finds comfortable to take a nap

Catching the next breeze from an open window

Following a distant shadow that others never see

Scratching at the nearest homemade scratching post

Either the side of our bed frame or a soft suitcase left out in the open

That we haven't found time to put away

Bored with her own scratching post

Stretching her legs up along the wall

Waiting for the birds outside the slider to come just a little bit closer

Always planning her next move

Going everywhere she is not suppose to be

Squeezing herself behind the flat screen t.v.

Up on the bureau knocking each picture frame over

On the table and then across the counter

No matter how many times she has been yelled at or scolded

It might slow her down but never stops her

She is determined to do what she wants

Sneaking past me down the cellar

Giving us a scare

Then in the very next moment

Curling up to me

Rubbing her chin against mine

Telling me everything is just the fine

As I look her straight in the eye

She neither blinks or turns away

She just things it's one more opportunity to play

Jumping down to race into the kitchen for no apparent reason

Only to lay down again after she takes a few bites of food

Off to the litter box she quietly walks

Only to climb up the office chair walk across the computer desk and knock down not one pen but two

Getting up early and going to bed late

Quick cat naps whenever the mood strikes

The run of our home

Taking her paw and opening one cabinet door then another

Finding the littlest piece of dust to bat around like a ball

She is are Charlette

Not just one cat but five different persionalities in all

HappyMikeWritter I would love to be one too. Sleep all day and cause mischief all night. I keep on trying to improve my stories by writing more. They say practice makes perfect. I have a long way to go but my thoughts are in the right place. Thanks for your wonderful thoughts. Here on Hubpages there are so many fantastic writers that write so well. I am the lucky one that gets to read their stories and have wonderful friends like you to keep me going.
