The Looking Glass

What I See

The bright lights shine off the steamed glass with a watery edge

Once shiny and sparkling now turned cloudy within time

As beads and droplets of sweat drip down from the corners

If held up high it could capsure lifes fondest memories

Looking at the bold silver plain lettering inscribed carefully on one side

When used it relenguishs the constant desire of passion

Not new no more and used on occasion under carefull observation

Many drinks have passed from the empty hole at the top with a wide mouth with a delicate fine edge

At one time it was chilled with a great ambience

Now still and motionless

If the glass could tell a story what would it say

I've been here since my inception

Blessed from the start

Celebrating a joyous occasion more special than many

A Silver Anniversary once Celebrated

Now six decades later

It can be a personification and reflection of all the joys

That turned mistakes into lessons

A great mix of moments of excellence and great cheer

It can lie empty and represent the loneliness of a time that has come and gone

For I am a fine crystal glass and will remain that way

i will continue to follow in my long tradition

To be used for purposeful celebrations

Two people who have made life possible

In every way shape and form

Until someday I may lie dusty and be put on a shelf and be forgotten

But for now I am used for a special drink

That does so much more than quench the thirst

It creates a hunger of all life filled with action

I have a star burst effect on all real life and everything that matters

This glass may, at times, seem "half empty;" and other times, "half full." It is what the proverbial 'we' have made of it. Beautiful words, DREAM ON...I think your name is very appropriate.

MOST interesting - with its fullest, truest meanings hidden - perhaps behind the cloudy surface?

You're too modest! You always give us much to smile about or to think about. Hugs.
