Lost Without You- a poem
Lost Without You
By Tony DeLorger © 2011
In separation love’s yearning is palpable,
the imbalance difficult to hide.
As though a part of us is missing,
we fumble for touch, for that gentle infusion,
of being near, of melding into one.
Each memory of scent, a loving glance,
tugs at our hearts, aches for more,
the longing ever in conscious thought,
until we are together once more.
The world seems wrong somehow,
incomplete without you by my side,
and I am lost, like a spark without direction,
a star without eyes to behold its beauty.
You are all I think about,
midthoughts your face haunts me,
your fingers exploring mine,
the sweet blissful knowledge of you.
It seems cruel that life can keep us apart,
when all we want is each other,
to share our lives within the folds of love,
to bask in the radiance of being.
How I long for you,
and until we are together,
I live in dreams, the tender memories
of you and I, side by side.
