Lost in This World

So utterly lost

in this crazy world

where we must live

we cannot head

out to the universe

we are here

without a clue

simply lost

Feeling so adrift

among the violence

and hatred in some parts of the world

wondering what it all means

and how to hold onto dreams

I remember a world

of colorful balloons

simple joys and ice cream cones

a golden time

of childhood smiles

and games played under the sun

As time rolls on

I try to hold on

lost among so many

adrift on the waves

of life’s sea

Now among my photos

I look back through the years

through all of the fears

always brushing away the tears

finding comfort among my friends

who are beside me on this journey

Who share this world with me

shall I invite them to tea?

Evening falls

another sun sets

waking early morning

day dawning

always searching for love

Please reach out and find me

Lost.....

Gypsy, when I read something as beautiful as this, it gives me hope. There will always be pain and madness in the world, but there is also much good, and good will always triumph over evil. Hugs heading your way, boarding at Luton Airport. :)

What I wouldn't give for the simpler times! We must make the best of what we have in this world and try to build a wall of happiness to repel the ugliness that tries to invade.

Beautiful thoughts, Rasma.

Everything seemed much more carefree in our childhood days...this may or may not have been true, but it felt that way :-))

Sometimes it's difficult to stay focused on happy times, esp. the burning of the young pilot, yet we must. Beautiful prose!

Thank you Nell. Yes, times were not as complicated or difficult as they are now.

There is always hope Jo. As long as friends and family are near. Hope you had a good trip.

Thank you Shauna. Our memories help to place us back in simpler times.

At least the remembrances can bring us back and we can smile about them Smilealot.

Thank you Ruby. We must always hold on to a ray of hope.

You welcome Venkatachari.

Thank you Kim and you're always welcome for tea. Blessings.

Thank you Mary.

This is totally true. Times do seem harder and tarnished now than ever. Also true you absolutely need your friends to keep you hanging in there. Words of hope.
