My Friend

My friend who lives so far, I search high and low,

You ease my pain when needed, you’re neither fiend nor foe.

I cannot just come round for a quick visit, we live so far apart,

I’ll definitely come to stay though, to be with your warm heart.

We can have many of those long chin wags, and plenty of tea,

You can show me your town, so I can take photos for all my friends to see!

Oh my friend, I really wish you didn’t live so far,

Finally I’m laughing hysterically with someone, but the distance makes the laughter feel so dark.

I’m coming to find you my friend, I promise I won’t fail,

I just need to stay on the tracks, and make sure my train stays on the rails!

I don't often get such wonderful comments like that. So thank you very much for your kind words. As for the poetry, all I can say is; "I just try my best."

I'm not a writer, and don't claim to be. Poetry and prose is just a hobby!
