Love Makes Dreams Come True

The fair was a wonderful thing

She had a real ball

With all of her friends

The bright lights at night

And the warm breezes

Were just ideal

As they rode the carousels

The Ferris wheel and had so much fun

It was all just a spree

Until she saw the ticket attendant

For the Twirling Cups

And his blue eyes made her sigh

And she twirled about this her friends

The all laughed joyously

But she kept seeking out the guy

Who had turned her head

She was quite convinced

That this was love at first sight

A magical, wonderful night indeed

As they walked about

She kept longing to return

To the ticket attendant

But neither of her friends

Wanted to take the ride again

The hours passed so quickly

And soon they saw

That the crowds were getting less

Everyone was drifting away

The fair was over

And with it the magic too

She told her friends

She’d make it home alone

And kept wandering about

Until it seemed

There were just a few

Stragglers left behind

She didn’t see him any longer

And sadly she too drifted out

Out of the fairgrounds

With tears in her eyes

Of frustration and anticipation

Perhaps feeling a bit foolish too

It would be a long walk home

And she watched until

The last light went out

So dark and forlorn

The place seemed spooky now

And she walked slowly away

Suddenly a noise behind her

Made her stop and turn around

The Ferris wheel was twinkling on

Light by light until it was flashing

All in brilliant colors

Something made her walk back

Like in a trance she entered the gate

Just staring at that colorful wheel

Reaching way up into the starry sky

There was a man she’d never seen before

Standing by the Ferris wheel

He gave her a smile

And held out a ticket

He told her a gentleman wanted to ride with her

She took the ticket

And walked over to the wheel

There sitting in the first car

Was the ticket attendant

That she had fallen for

He helped her in and she sat down

Then the Ferris wheel

Flew straight up into the sky

He was as delighted with her

As she was with him

And she sort of felt

Like Alice in Wonderland

When they reached the top

The stars and moon seemed within reach

He told her he owned the fair grounds

And looked forward to this every year

Then he leaned over to kiss her

And she knew that it was love indeed

As skyrockets went off

And burst into fantastic colors

Right above their heads

I know for a fact that love made my dreams come true. Beautiful message my friend. Keep them coming; we need more beauty in this world, and messages of love can never harm us.

Your Poem shows all of us a dream and takes to another world! The flow is very good. Well written. One thing I'd like to add: I guess you missed one or two words in the beginning part, else its flawless.

It has been so long since I have been to a carnival. Your poem makes me really want to attend another one. So cool that the ticket attendant also owned the fairgrounds. The poem is like the beautiful story you presented: Brilliant!

Have a great week,

Kim

Ohh, Gypsy. This reminds me of how I met my first love. If love is fated to be realized, it will be. I truly believe this. And there is nothing more beautiful. Voted way up and shared.

The lightning bolt of love has struck many couples sitting high atop the ferris wheel. I was slow to fall in low...afraid of heights! A good, poetic tale with much truth sprinkled throughout. ~WB

Such a lovely, romantic poem. Some years ago I wrote a poem that I wanted sung at my funeral. I set it to the Russian traditional tune: 'Stenka Razin,' that we'd learned at school. When I sang it to a friend, they pointed out that the tune was the same as 'The Carnival is Over,' and when I checked, it is! But it's a lovely tune, and I guess when it happens, the carnival will be over, too!

Hi gypsy-rose- lee

When a real , orchestrated from above " dream comes true " - without unnecessary phrase " I love " it's abvious and having verifiable existence.

You presented an evidence of it.

Voted up and beautiful.

Ah, love. There is something magical about the bright lights, the crowds, ferris wheels and carnivals in general. Such a perfect setting for love at first sight, especially when you're young. It's something in the air!

Such a light and lovely poem. A nice way to start my day.

Take care.
