MARCH UNDENIABLY HERE

The mist flies by fast~

Over the snow filled field~

Where it comes from~

Or~

Is going~

I have no idea.

The rain comes rapidly down~

From the sky~

As I watch it~

I wonder why? ~

Why does it rain as the~

Gusty wind blows? ~

The answer echoes as I sit on~

My white spindle chair~

The answer is March is~

Undeniably here!

Grey, grey, grey is all I see~

In the distance showing~

Through the spindly trees.

Various birds play musical branches~

As they hop to one twig to another~

In hopes to avoid rain drops~

To keep semi dry~

They are like a dance before~

My eyes.

Coffee warms my hands~

As I watch this nature scene~

The pine table I am near~

Is soaked with droplets from the~

Squally damp moist air.

March has just started~

I yearn for spring to break through~

Cabin fever has taken root~

Which leaves me in a~

Quandary on what to do?

As the wind picks up~

The temperature takes a dive~

I am sure it was just last week~

When the temperature was encouragingly high.

Yes March is here playing its tricks~

Confusing our senses for~

What could come next?

The Rhododendron bush~

Leaves are soaked right through~

As the front porches gutters~

Pound with water~

On the sturdy shrub~

Whose trimming is long over due.

I now turn to venture back in~

The log house in which I live~

Looking towards the windows~

Inside this cozy nest~

I have no fear~

Yet looking out the window~

The rain droplets infest~

I realize still~

That~

March is~

Undeniably here!

Hours later I venture again to see~

Nature from the front porch jamboree! ~

Again my eye catches the trail of steam~

That is so curious to me? ~

Again my mind drifts with the~

Vapor curling and moving past. ~

Once again my mind repeats the~

Same words again as if time has not lapsed~

The mist flies by fast~

Over the snow filled field~

Where it comes from~

Or~

Is going~

I have no idea~

But this I do contend now~

March is undeniably here!

In like a lion alright, more of a lamb in western Oregon, 56 here today & sun. You capture the dregs of Winter banging at our windows, blustering and blowing.

I'm not lucky; I chose to live here after spending my younger years in PA and NJ. I followed my parents here a year after they moved. Florida has its advantages, but it lacks a lot in flora and fauna, not to mention hills and mountains!

Before, I had never really liked the weather in the Month of March, but you have a good way of describing this chilly month we are having. (I was supposed to be born in March, so there are other things in the month that distract me from the weather, such as Easter Sunday!)

Lisa, another great piece, yes; March is undeniably here, let's hope the Lion goes out like a lamb. I need to do some gardening but it's too darn cold :).
