Unmasked
I change everyday
alter
translate
remodel.
I am a different colors
shades
hues
tones
I possess many different moods
tempers
dispositions
desire.
I suffer sadness
despair
emptiness.
I have a gift for seeing the truth
the lies
the miracles
the devastation.
My world is
as luscious and pink as the small of my back
as rich and burgundy as the streams trickling carefully into wrong places
as softly blue as the pounding rain
and tattered and worn as the gray on the sidewalks of truth.
There are no days
when my life fits into the color wheel.
It's
never
that
simple.
Perhaps by now
you have glimpsed
the volume of me
Unless you have not
listened closely enough
to hear
who
I
am.
