Mad Hatter the Stalker

Mad Hatter

The Mad Hatter

Go to sleep don’t worry this is my keep

When your eyes close my own weep

Hours you are in that mystery land

All I have to do is stand

You writhe and turn this way and that

My arms want to reach you but I can’t

Once your love was thrown away

Now I sit in my room to stay

You should have rested more my dear

Because I sit alone in this nursing home in fear

They say a stalker is amongst us and beware

I think I seen him in the daylight

The Mad Hatter gave me such a fright

When the sun came through the window this morn

I am sure I seen rabbit ears and someone with horns

Its tea time in this hospital for the aged

A long table with odd people being our stage

Come one, come all, dunk your cookie in the tea

You see the Mad Hatter is really me

I love that last line Miss B and the poetic trip to get there was certainly worth it.

And I would follow you through the literary looking glass anytime - anywhere - anyplace.
