Mary's Prayer

I know not what may come with dawn
and I know not how to carry on for
death's mean sting has come to call
and claimed the man that was my all.
Now he soars in yonder realm
and left me to an unknown helm.
I wander lost in tears and pain,
and burn to hear his voice again.

To the God that brought him near,
I come and kneel, and beg You hear.
Guide my words, my thoughts and deed.
Let Your Love fulfill my need...
Still my sorrow, calm my fear,
Restore my heart to hope and cheer
And keep him safe beneath Your Wing
Until we meet again and sing,
Amen.

Quite a beautiful release of emotion. And you will receive healing as you express yourself. You have been through a lot this year. And I am grateful with God's timing in all that this family has gone through.

This is so very beautiful. I know this was written for your Sister Mary, it serves another purpose also, my Sister Mary just lost her Son Tom. I spent the day with her on Saturday. She is in so much pain. I know time is a healer. God Bless them both. Thank you. Your poetry always touches me, this one is special.

Aww, Ruby, my deepest condolences to your sister and you for your loss. I Cannot imagine that kind of pain, to lose one's child. The closest I have come is this latest ordeal with my one son's diagnosis of cancer, and another son's news of a mass in his lung, which we feared was cancer. The two of those together has had me pretty rattled, on top of my sister's deep loss. That is as close as I care to be, really, but my heart goes out to your sister. I am glad this poem touched you. Lots of love!

What a beautiful prayer for your sister. May he RIP and may she find the peace that only healing brings in time, never forgetting for a moment that they will meet again on the other side. He awaits with open arms.
