Me And My Shadow- Poetry
She likes to reminisce about times that's best forgotten
Me And My Shadow
Oh what hidden secrets she could relate
If she could only communicate
Sometimes I worry when we're in a hometown crowd
She's unpredictable, and sometimes whispers out loud
She's too bold when we happen to meet strangers on the street
Their ear's perk-up when she's deliberately indiscreet
She likes to reminisce about events that's best forgotten
Like times of recklessness when ill will was begotten
I must admit I feel secure when she's walking by my side
Periodically she prefers the clouds to run away and hide
Summer is waning, soon her shadow will fade away
Lying dormant until I see my friend again on a beautiful sunny day.
