Micro-Poem (No. 1) The Frustrated Writer
The Frustrated Writer
by John Hansen © 2013
Sitting silent at my desk
Staring blankly at the screen
Fingers hover over keys
But no words come to be.
Writer's block, or lacking thoughts
Is my inspiration gone?
Or maybe it is just because
The power switch isn't on.

What I Did at the End of Our Street is not biographical. It is however, a rather graphic expose on one of our society’s greatest problems.
A short list and commentary on some songs and verses that I heard while growing up and that have become embedded in my mind so that seemingly for no reason I suddenly start singing or reciting them.
This story is in response to a writing challenge issued by my friend annart to write about a boring, mundane subject and attempt to make it interesting. I hope I have succeeded with "The Leaf."
