Mirror: A Poem
Tender affections sweet as perfume;
Belated beauty in full-blossomed bloom;
Fresh, new love without ripple or seam,
Burning and brilliant as a hot laser beam.
Cold silence when the love has died;
Beauty replaced by scorn and pride;
Broken promises and gnawing despair;
Shattered dreams beyond repair.
