Missing One

Moving Past Today

There’s a place you once were

And I thought you’d always be

But the castle is crumbling,

Waves are tossed in the sea.

In the path that I walk,

You no longer hold my hand.

Maybe you were never there,

Maybe it’s just me who stands.

You once gave me a feather,

And taught me how to fly,

But the world is far bigger,

The sky higher than you and I.

In the world of shadow,

--The world you don’t exist, --

I walk from place to place,

But it’s always you I miss.

There’s a place you once were

And I thought you’d always be.

Yet if I crumble now without you,

Someday I might fly free.

I love poetry and dabblepoe in it myself and it is amazing sometimes what comes out, I think it so awesome when hubbers post poetry. Your poem can have so many different meanings and I guess that is what makes a mawvelous work of art. I like the image of being free at the "end" of the poem and the beginning of freedom. The irony. Looking forward to reading more of your poetry and prose.
