Poem: Missing People
I was reading up on some missing persons cases, about where they were last seen, what their families have said and I just felt awful for those that are affected and a poem popped into my mind and I just had to write it down.
So here it is...
A missing person’s picture appears
My thoughts turn to prayer for their return
Can’t help thinking of their family’s tears
And of how terribly their hearts must yearn.
I stare long into those missing eyes
And wonder what they have endured
I wonder where they are if they can hear the cries?
Were they snatched away or deceitfully lured?
It breaks me to think of their plight
My heart wishes it could lend a hand
All I can do is pray with full might
Pray that goodness will take a stand.
My thoughts and prayers are with those who have lost
And with those who have never been found.
May we strive for the good no matter the cost
And pray for peace to resound.
