Mist Through The Street (poem)

The mist which drifted softly through the street

Felt strangely warm with echoes of the past

Those special heartbeats which were meant to last

A breath of life still waiting to complete

-

And as it took the edge of world away

Within it was the essence of a song

A soul I knew was called to join along

I thought I knew the meaning of the day

-

Then once again I’m taken to a door

Where dreams unshaken wait to come alive

And bells of glory once more will revive

Those feelings so much grander than before

-

Then I awoke to morning just to find

Again she left a tearful me behind

A nice rendering Martin: a tinge of sadness, of memories and realities with which we all must live. Great poem my friend.

I remember that pain and wishing it was a dream. But time heals all wounds, even those of the heart.

The emotion in this poem is very familiar to me. It's almost chilling, beautiful work.

The difference between our dreams and the stark reality of the world we awaken to. So nicely done, Martin.
