Motivation of Poetic Intent.............

Perhaps to merely ride in on the dust
motes of a sunny august morning
Or is it the sound of your heart inspiring mine
to take warning

Yet maybe it's just me and I'm not strong enough
to know how to ignore the gift
And then the mood alone pens the words
that can befall..... or can lift

One chance encounter ....an accident
and the fender paints mix
Each color of one soul left on another
the eye missing the tricks

Yet I drive on on a road less
traveled
And along the way
a thought
a line
an emotion unraveled

Just sitting and watching the beauty
of a woman unseeing
Or the laugh of a child
or some emotional freeing

Is it as simple as a melody the one that
sticks in my head
More than once I walked through
a cemetery
and listened to the dead

Whatever the cause why ever
the need
You can't recall the words once
they become freed

In truth .......I write for YOU!
