My Cat Won't Let Me Sleep
My Four Legged Terror
I hear clawing on the sides of the bed
Wake up wake up sleepy head
I crawl out of bed and put some food down for my cat to eat
She wants to play not eat
So she climbs on my desk nocking one of the speakers to the floor
Ruffles through papers as she explores even more
Stop it I say
She insists she wants to play
It is 5:05 in the morning
My eyes closed and me still yawning
I throw her a toy
She watches it go across the room
I am not going to run for it
So I go get it and throw it again
She watches me her head turning and probably laughing
I'm not getting it
I throw it again this time she walks away
I had enough your no fun
I am not going to run
So I go to the kitchen to get something to eat
She jumps on the counter and rolls across the table and bounces on her feet
I want to play
So I take out a feather duster she usually goes crazy for
This time she watched me play with it
Back and forth tapping it on the floor
She rolled over still bored
I go on the computer
She jumps up in my face
I want to play
I put her down and back behind the computer she goes
Clawing at every wire she sees
I scoot her out and give her a treat
She sniffs and lifts up her head
I want to play
Off to bed I bring her to the edge next to my feet where she sleeps
She instantly hops down
I want to play
I get up and pat her once again
Finding another toy she likes
She is just like a girl I knew hard to please and loves to tease
She has pushed all my buttons and she still wants something else
I am not sure what
I don't think I will ever know
What makes her happy or keeps her satisfied
She has me mystified
