My Mistake (a Poem)
The air is thick
of disappointment and regret.
Can no longer breathe
the air you share.
Loyalty means nothing,
a path chosen,
never to be corrected.
Your words remembered
false and hollow.
Tainted by your blame.
Friendship and partnership
swept away by your hate
bottled on the shelf
lid sealed tight.
Time brings forgiveness
soothed by the years.
But forgotten no
your meanness, your legacy.
