My Mornings

All my mornings

one following another

gray and rainy days

Oh, how I wish

my mornings

could be sunny and bright

full of promises

of new and happy times

but then the winter stepped in

with snow and ice

the north wind began to blow

soon I’ll step off winter’s road

leaving behind frozen bridges

and rivers frozen in time

the sea will begin to sing again

and the rains of spring will come

rainy days bring on daydreams

of all of my mornings

that have come and gone

filled with smiles and good times

leaving so many sparkling memories

as the raindrops

tap on my window pane

all of my mornings

are so cold and gray

What can I say?

wish I could wake up

to a bright and sunny

spring day

perhaps tomorrow

perhaps the day after

just wish all my early spring mornings

didn’t bring the rain

rolling in from the sea

turning on my music

just daydreaming

wish all my mornings

could be sunny from now on

I'm afraid we are a few months from the dream coming true, but it was fun to daydream with you. :)

Alas the wonderful sun is poking through for some moments -- and you have helped me daydream for the future with more. awesome job.

Beautiful poem! Our happy memories of sunshiny days give us hope to get through the endless gray ones. I wish you a rainbow or two:)

Ah - I love it! Actually I love both wintry and summery mornings. I guess I just created the word 'summery' - lol! Fabulous poem, my friend. A vivid image painted.

How I wish all my mornings were sunny now. Winter is hard to deal with. Still, you've cheered me up and kept me warm with this immortal song.

Lovely poem! Just right to help me cool down in our hot summer days here. At least our weather is so changeable there's never time to be bored!

Waking to a gloomy day sets the mood. It makes me want to stay in my pj's all day and binge watch movies.

Sunny mornings, on the other hand are very motivating. I love listening to the birds greet the day with their sweet songs.

Wishes come true...sometimes, but if we never wish, those sometimes may never happen. Enjoyable read!

This is beautiful poetry with a beautiful metaphor, Rasma. And I love George Harrison's song; it's one of my favorites.

Glad this warmed you up Manatita. Very cold where we are with snow and ice.

Well Blossom I would rather have the warmth right now even the heat.

Sunny mornings are always the best Shauna.

Thank you MsDora.

The song was behind the inspiration Genna.

Summer times are the best though winter does have its charm when it does not snow very heavily. Beautiful poem.
