My Nemesis...a poem
By Tony DeLorger © 2013
Qualified to exact vengeance and hurt on my person,
for all that I undermine, obstruct and then worsen,
I am my most successful and consummate foe,
able to decimate each wish I unfold.
For all that I blame for my spectacular undoing,
in the end it is me who has screwed the dreams I'm pursuing,
with all those fears and doubts I can muster,
I stumble and fall and my hopes all lack luster.
And there lies the fault, the truth, Achilles heel,
pursuit without faith is like a punchline not revealed,
no resolution can come from the fear of success,
the chain of life changes that one must learn to invest.
Regardless of talent, intentions or will,
one must have the faith and belief in one's self to instill,
and then doing becomes pursuit in your thinking and hopes,
and reality explodes all you want in vast scope.
You see belief is the passage, your minds open door,
even the impossible sits waiting to be restored,
and regardless of circumstance and all the walls that appear,
success is then inevitable with the death of all fear.
So rather than spend a life blaming with tears,
look for that core of yourself and believe without fear,
trust in your ability and ignore judgments passed,
to be who you are, your soul freedom at last.
Be who you are, who you are meant to be; anything else is cheating yourself.
