My Sweet Ecstasy Engineer - Love Poem by Cathy Nerujen
While thinking of
the night before
when words you said
went through my mind
when since we'd met -
in halfway space -
such feelings now
I comprehend -
the faucet off -
the towels replenished -
soap replaced -
and water drained -
lights are dimmed -
the music soft -
the smell of
lilac talc remains -
the bed is bare -
the curtains sway -
my eyes they see
the empty sheets -
where then I lie
and snuggle - nay -
you dreamy girl -
you're in my head -
I sleep and dream
of lands so far
across the many
miles and miles
and after time
and tired feet -
I find a street
with colored tiles -
the moon is high -
and crickets crick
the air is full
of sound and spice -
I spy a house -
it's lights within -
its family feast
on pork and rice -
and in a window
glow of green
where dappled shadows
play and fight
like kitten cats -
a girl I've seen -
She sits alone -
but what a sight -
her hair so long
and fine, it flows
across her cheeks
and brownest eyes -
her beauty - bright -
it ever knows
how seem the
star-lit jeweled skies -
her presence moves
and feels a wish -
a place where want
has made a space -
she blinks
and turns and
sees me -
quite surprised -
becomes her
angel's face -
I know her name -
I know that smile
her lips I've kissed
a thousand times -
where apple grass -
and love so deep -
it grew with us -
I made her mine -
"Are you a dream?"
her voice it came -
her chuckle soft -
her voice so warm
she sees me - like
a dream, but real -
familiar - like a
dress she's worn -
We know our souls
have met before -
we know our
love is shy -
the kind that hides
from souls we know -
but open
like a sky -
"I dreamed of you..."
I answer back -
(white horses kissing
down your spine - )
you blink and quiver -
words go deep -
like lips that savor
rich red wine -
sweet girl - we kiss -
the light becomes -
our skins they touch -
a soft veneer -
their cadence felt -
like burning suns -
my sweet ecstasy engineer -
our hearts wade in
the deepest stream -
they bathe and play
in pools so blue -
we found this love -
we dared to dream -
and no bad water flows in you -
you are this girl -
this fearless heart -
a kindred soul
who longs for love -
we wove like fabric -
tight yet soft -
a perfect fit -
a velvet glove -
Dedication
About this poem:
This poetic delight was partly written some time back, when I was falling so in love with a very special person. As our love and feelings grew, so too did the poem. My sweet love and I have come this far, and she deserves thanks and love for this beautiful relationship. If angels are real, and I say they are, then this girl is surely my Angel. Her name is Fehl Dungo. This poem is dedicated to you, honey.
No distance, sea or skies above
can stop us finding what we feel -
finding you - I'm finding love -
no judgment here - just love so real.
It's funny - how we write - and know
how muses feel each word so deep -
that words of ours -
swim deep - and flow -
and draw us close -
two souls to keep ...
my sleep awakes -
and yet you're close
your music kisses
hum in me -
no love ignores
companionship -
and now I
sing you constantly -
these words will flow -
and write our life -
like water spilling
round our feet -
our truth will sound -
our footprints filled
this love a fleece -
and us beneath -

Poetry Ideas for Writing
Are you a writer or poet? Do you dream of writing and publishing your poetry? I created poems some years ago and showcased them here on HubPages. I have had many hundreds of comments on my work, and it is a great way of being noticed and having your writing seen and read by others. Many other poets I know have done similar here. I am inspired by poets like Marifel Dungo, Dim Flaxenwick, actor / poet Michael Madsen, star of Reservoir Dogs, and more besides.
There are no real rules to writing poetry. Just write, and see what happens. Try out new ideas and new topics and themes in your writing. To get some ideas, try reading the poetry of other poets. Get some idea of what they are writing about. Sum up their ideas, see what they lead to. See what works for your writing and for you. Also try getting to meet and get to know poets and writers. There is no better way of gauging how people will like your work until you publish it. Good luck with your writing.
