"Crime" Part 2
Mystery Unsolved
Years have passed
since i've seen your handsome face,
one I could not,
will not,
soon forget.
It lingers on my mind,
in my heart.
How quickly I fell in love
with a stranger.
How quickly cupid shot me,
like a bullseye,
with his dart.
And how quickly you were
gone,
vanished in thin air.
I turned the corner,
and you were no longer
there.
I wonder if you saw me at all.
I could have sworn that
your beautiful blue eyes
met mine.
Only feet,
only inches apart,
Yet miles away.
You must have
got on that bus,
or on that train.
I still search for you,
to this day.
A face with no name.
Nothing to go by.
Its a hopeless task.
My mission impossible,
but one I must complete,
till I find you, my love,
I shall never be free.
Forever tormented by
the memory of you,
the longing to touch you
to feel your embrace.
But night after night,
day after day,
I return to this place,
in hopes to see you again,
in hopes to meet you.
but you never show,
as more days go by,
and I grow old.
I haven't loved a single man,
since you.
Without ever touching my skin,
you touched my soul.
This mystery unsolved,
to solve it
is my goal.
Would I even recognize you now?
I'm sure I would.
Your face more distinguished,
older now,
through gray hairs
and wrinkles,
I'd know its you somehow.
Those butterflies
have been held captive,
all of this time,
waiting,
anticipating,
that moment when
they would fly.
