Need A New Love

Need a new car,

Been here a year,

Broke-in and worn,

No longer brings cheer.

Need a new house,

Much bigger I plead,

Much more storage space,

For all that I need.

Need a new wardrobe,

So outdated,

Last year's fashion,

Sense not sated.

Need a new face,

With a body to match,

One young and strong,

Not needing to patch.

Need a new religion,

More up beat,

No longer happy,

Washing others' feet.

Need a new love,

Passion has faded,

Feelings weakened,

Lost or jaded.

Need a new life,

With glamor and fame,

More excitement,

For the next big name.

Hello Cardisa,

Nice of you to stop by. I believe most people in society feel this way, unfortunately.

There is a couplet in Urdu language which means if translated,

If you get him what should you do,

A wish that can't be fulfilled whole life

Ask for that wish.

If you get a new love everything will look new to you,

Lots of Love,

I don't need a a new anything. I guess my sarcasm did not come through. I was actually disagreeing with this frame of thought. I have a wonderful husband and am so far able to rekindle the flames when needed to keep us feeling new. I am happy with all my life. The only thing I could use is a car, and that is only so I don't have to rely on others to get me to appointments. Thanks for stopping by and commenting!

Hello, Paddyboy!

Nice of you to come by. I know so many of us would like to have new faces and new bodies. Of course we could always learn to love what we have too. Thanks for reading and leaving a comment.

Hello again, ahorseback!

Glad you enjoyed it and thank you for the compliment. It was a compliment, wasn't it? At least that is how I took it. Since unique is not necessarily a good thing. It is to me but others want to look and act just like that latest "celebrity."

I love the way you've captured the society's persistent need for 'need a new everything'. There is an inherent discontentment that fuels this hunger. I think being content is an art and a skill. You've put it so well in your excellent observation. voted up!

Thank you, Docmo! Nice to meet you! It is sad that people can get wrapped up in commercialism and lose focus on what life is really about. Traditions have faded and become just another expense. There are no real Holidays any more. It is only time to spend more money. After all--the commercials say we need these things to make us happy. We forget what happy really is.
