Nemesis: The birth
She walked steadily heading home after a very tiring day at work. It was past eleven. The wind was so cold that walking home on a dark cold night like that was a huge sin. The current of frosty air slapped her face twice. It sent a spasm rushing up her spine and made her heart shriek. The alley was dark and no soul seemed to walk it. “Deserted? Oh for my luck! Can this get any worse?”
A sudden rattle echoed in the dark alley and that was a bad sign. “Oh Did I really have to say something! Shit!” Her heart was beating in a very abnormal way. Her hands were shaking, sweaty, and trembling like an old branch of tree. She knew what that was and the rest of the story. She increased her pace, bolted into the dark alley and decided not to stop no matter what. She held her eyes open wide trying to sense where her legs were taking her. All what was on her mind was to get a way and come home safely. “What an idiot! That was a bad idea” She hesitated then pushed even harder. “This is not happening to me!” She ran even harder though her heart was about to burst. She knew that if she didn’t she wouldn’t live to tell her story. For sure some one was following her for she heard footsteps. And she knew what that was. It was time to run for her life. She took her position, raised her legs and gave it a run. “One , two three, and Breathe.”
She kept her pace for about fifteen minutes not even turning back to see whether she was being stalked or not. After a moment of hesitation she decided to check things out. After a pause she decided to stop. Oh ! I think I am safe”, she sighed in delight. “No your not keep running they are still behind you haven’t reached your safe zone” another voice in her head cried. “Ha? What is that I am hearing? I must be going nuts out of fear!” “Just keep running idiot! I see them they are closing on you! RUNNNN!!!”
She gave a huge shriek in her heart and bolted fiercely. “NOoo,” the voice in her head screamed, “Look out! Behind you!”. A huge yelp echoed in the alley, as they pulled her by the hair. “Hey-yo Mamma!”
“Get the hell off of me!” she screamed, kicked and pushed trying to get his heavy weight of hers. Then a strong sound echoed, “That B!tCH didn’t just slap me did she?”
“Oh I guess she did”, another voice that seemed harsher but calmer said. “By the way Jake, leave some for me ok? Don’t go solo”.
He slapped her face hard that it made her feel dizzy. As she lay there, she heard him unzip his Jeans. “Oh no! Get up! Wake up! Stand up! Do anything! You can’t die on me now! Rise!” But the voice’s attempts were ineffectual. She lay there drowning into the pool of pain his strike sent her into. She doze for a second but the voice in her didn’t remain silent. “What do you think of me now ? Ha? B@!*&? Oh you are gonna pay real hard!” he added smirking at her fragile face.
A final squeal echoed. This time the man was on the ground filled with pain. He wondered what just happened. Unable to comprehend the situation, he called “that b&^$* is a strong one! I like it when they fight back, it spices things up? Don’t you think so Sam?”
“Oh leave me out of this one Jake, I guess she is angry!”
“It is not like that hoar can do anything! Come on let us have some fun! You know what I like!”
The girl this time stood head high, with her eyes dark as blood. Her hair flew over her face. She was fierce, but this time it wasn’t fear that dug inside. It was something else. The entity said “it is time to repay the debt!”. She jumped behind her assaulter, punched him in the kidneys, and then took her former position. The assaulter took out a pocket knife and held it up straight at her face. The blade flickered I in the dark. Another scream was heard and this time it seemed to be accompanied by his downfall. The girl soon had his head on her shoulder as he spat blood on her black kimono. She looked at him with disgust and said “Death dies hard!”. She held in her hand a katana that was so beautiful it symbolized her purity. His blood stained the striking blade. She took the blade out of her enemy and looked down in disgust “sayonara!” Her attacker that stayed behind froze petrified with fear. He was speechless. “ What happened to that girl that seemed so fragile? What happened to her clothes? Why does she look that different? Has she changed? What is with that long blade of hers?
“Who are you? What do you want?” He trembled before the dark shinigami that stood in front of him. “I – didn’-t you know . p-lease- i- sorr-y we were having Fun!” Fun that word pissed her off , that her anger sent him flying to the next wall! “You’re sorry?? Well, since I am going to kill you and feel no remorse, I shall just tell you who I am. I am a dark soul, a dark power that exists every millennium to rid the world from you. I am reincarnated into a body and a soul that the beholder doesn’t know about my existence until the right time! I am your worse foe! I am the one you is going to send you to your rotting place. I am death itself. I am Nemesis.” She speed flashed and chopped off his head. She walked by the bodies of her attackers like a new soul reborn ridden of all the pain and memories of her past life. She returned her katana in its seethe and walked. As she walked through the alley she said “ WE walk this earth with fire in our hands eye for an eye we are nemesis!”
