No, I haven't finished yet!

By Tony DeLorger © 2012

I am corrupted by my own frailty,

my own inability to cope,

with the constant onslaught of stupidity,

with which I am to deal.

How many simply take this in their stride,

accept the confusion and deluded expectations of people,

when truth sits before them,

pulling untoward faces of indignant displeasure.

Certainly not me, at my own expense,

my nerves shredded, my system overloaded,

with the petty concerns of dissatisfied beings,

who in their wisdom choose me as their sounding board.

I sit aghast, speechless,

like a dog chasing its tail,

hoping for an end but with none in sight,

and I like the dog simply winding down till there is no more energy.

So where have I gone, down this path of frustration,

what have I achieved in this placation of burdens,

not a thing worth having, worth learning,

just a pay check so I may breath a little longer.

Ineptitude is not a word, more a disease,

rampant and blatantly in my face twenty four seven,

and me hardly able to cope join the throng,

lost within the struggle of irrelevant purpose.

The rat race is closer to the truth than any of us would like to admit,

and yet we persist in a our petty projections and struggles,

despite seeing it for what it is,

an illusion.

Now I'm done.

Absolutely beautiful, Tony. :) Good work. It's all about the Rat Race apparently... *sigh*

It's all about perspective. Thanks Leslie. Love all the shoes by the way; we are a wondrous mob.
