Not Knowing Why Someone Had Died - Poetry - Free verse

Y R U Gone

__________________________________________________________________________________

Just a whisper

through the room

midst the night

my thoughts

were soon

turned again

familiar

faint voice I hear

knowing someone is very near

yet not here

Gone on a long

eternal journey

where

I’ve yet to be

yearn to see

when

the shadows dim over the stage

of my life

I shall know

the glory of what

you now possess

in your light

So disturbing

the tale of your demise

too many voices

who was telling lies

One, two three and more

each tale different

of what happened beyond

your bedroom door

No call came of an accident on the road

No growing disease inside of you

young not very old

who knows

who cares

Someone some where

hides the answers

perhaps my heart to spare

Still I yearn to hear

is someone saving me

from knowing what really happened that fateful year

Nice piece. Very sad tone to it, but is written beautifully. I enjoy reading your work.

Midianite, thank you. I wrote this very quickly last night. Some times the words just come when I write. This piece is about my late son who passed at age 29. I honor his life through writing. Sometimes it helps me. He was only 29 but was the Chief of Fire/Rescue/EMS services in a small town close to me. Thought I had stopped questioning and more towards accepting, obviously it's not the case.

Sorry for your loss. It is a positive thing to see that you are inspired by his life. I had more I was going to say but I'm unsure how to word it. Anyway, keep up the brilliant writing.

Thank you Medianite. In order to gain more insight on this poem I started a short series of writes about it called Sunglasses. Another piece as well recently about the signs of the afterlife. I have a heavy heart and know his death changed me forever. Bless you.

Too be honest, I've never had someone close to me pass away, so I'm afraid I can't say I know the feeling. I hope you're alright : )

I am ok. Honestly moving forward this year with more positives and letting go of negatives of all the losses I incurred. Keep writing and inspire me as well to keep writing more upbeat light Hubs.

It's truly good you can see past the negatives. However, I find that very hard to achieve.

When we boil it all down sometimes all there is left are "just the whispers through the room" to hold onto. Beautiful line and verse. Denizee....Ed

Hey Denizee, moving forward with the positives and letting go of the negatives is good! The future is yours to grab and hold on too. God has plans for you!
