Poem: O Noble Soul

Source

When copious stars sparkle like sapphires,

When solitary Moon glistens in sky,

O noble Soul,

Be not heedless to a loving heart, for thou shall repent,

Realizing the Moon has disappeared while counting the stars.

When coal stands amidst the tunnel,

When gold bar sits on the land,

O noble Soul,

Be not hostile to raw and rust, for thou shall remorse,

Recalling the Diamond has left while kissing the gold bar.

When infants deliriously smile and glance,

When wrinkled faces genuinely stare,

O noble Soul,

Be not acrimonious to the bent backs, for thou shall witness,

That adolescence and dotage is coherent in fact.

When a wealthy offers for a lavish feast,

When an impecunious invites for a meal,

O noble Soul,

Do not underestimate the poor, for thou shall sense,

That humbleness of a poor is far greater than the rich.

When work orders to toil like a machine,

When family beseeches for Love and Time,

O noble Soul,

Untie the suffocating tie, for thou shall see,

Relations need oxygen from embrace and glee.

When trials and tribulations fetch the water of success,

When a vacant well casts failure and hell,

O noble Soul,

Accept the failure too as a temporary defeat, for thou shall accept,

Every failure carries with it a seed of an equivalent success.

When life ispleasing and replenished with joy,

When life is harsh and utters oy,

O noble Soul,

Be not serious but sincere, for thy name will be on myriad lips –

The man who had no complaints gaily bids farewell today.

All is well here, Hari.

I was horrendously busy, but now back to the writing hub. Will keep the pace of reading your poems. It's a pleasure to read them indeed.

Hmm - heart burn, well, I might write something about it. In Hindi, they say, "Vo shayari hi kya jisme dard na ho." Meaning, what's the use of ghazal or poetry if it's not painful. Thanks for the idea. Reading and writing also go hand in hand with me. I'm now thinking to write some fictions as well. This mind is an awesome director, writer and editor :)
