Oblivion: Existence into Nothingness
The Journey of the Dust
I'm just a dust trying to pierce your eyes'
occasionally hurting the innocent ones
I tried stopping you from looking back
with just a gust of air, you suddenly reacted. Penetrating your eyelids that abruptly closed I was inadvertently stashed out among the bees in two Humming, sipping the nectar of roses in bloom Help! I got stuck on one of its hind legs in tow! Off we go to the beehive at the mango tree nearby, To escape the sticky leg is so hard to try I don't have the strength to get away right now All I need is help to get out of this mess. Something snatched me from the bee's plight A brush of mango leaves put me to the tree's bark Then a weaver ant passes by dragging me along I never know what awaits me from ant's journey alone. The worker ant joined his group tagging me along Boasting to the others what a 'sweet' find he brought, Only to realize that I was hard as a rock Only smaller but just coated by the nectar's sweetness With disgust he threw me that far, Thud! I was swept by the blue kingfisher! What a way to fly, my feeling's so high Away we go arching its wings to the sky. All of a sudden he dove down and down Near the brooks with its clear water gurgling He swiftly caught a small fish and up he went Gulping it in the air while leaving me in the water The cacophony of sound awakened me suddenly The familiar feeling started haunting me Greetings of peace and a welcome song Were offered by my family of sand along the shore.
Just trying to pass the time
as my mind floats in the sky
Imaginary wings on a stand by
to carry me up, so high.
I got lost in a while
I don't know I did nap
then I caught you
at the corner of my eyes.
You're in your own world, too
eyes closed as if in a trance
In a lotus-style, you sit
as if floating in the sky.
Up and up we went
eyes closed, breathing controlled
you're so near
and yet seemed so far.
Suddenly, we're entwined
I'm surprised and you, too.
We simply merged
Pinch me, pinch me hard!
if only to believe that I'm alive.
Kick me quick, a kick that hurts.
If only to relieve the pain inside.
Cut me, cut me into half
If only to show that I'm alive.
Burn me, burn me with your love.
To justify what I'm feeling inside.
Don't hide in the shadow
Bare yourself in me.
Let me know your innermost thoughts
Your longings and intimacy.
when the light can't penetrate your vision,
when your ears shut off all the noises of this world.
when your heart feels nothing but an iron-clad vagueness
when your loved ones depart and bade goodbye.
when happiness flew out the window as you went away.
All I do is gaze at the setting of the sun...
Feeling numb as my life nears the end of my journey.
The night, the darkness, the dreams, sleepless nights...
I want nothing but peace...it's still far
Calmness is still out of my reach.
Will I still be alive if it came too late?

So you think you know Philippines better as I do. Think again. I, myself, is truly a stranger to my own country, until I happened to live in the sub-urban county of Baclaran in Paranaque, Metro Manila.
The empowerment of volunteers in many communities here in the Philippines is the main project of DSWD-KALAHI-CIDSS:NCDDP, not just the foreign-funded projects being given to the selected barangays.
