Ode to Adversity by Manatita
An Inspiration. May be easier to reflect on the piece
"Behind all shadows of adversity
There is prosperity.
Wait and see!
Will clasp you behind all shadows
Of adversity-night."- Sri Chinmoy
O Goddess of Blight, o Lover of the Light,
Out of the furnace of your clay-cavern,
I have emerged a crystal vase.
Immersed in a smouldering of infirmities,
It was You who caressed my longings,
Re-fashioned my focus, and transformed my ails,
Into a sweetened paradise.
Beloved, I know now,
That You approved of my condition,
And enfolded me in a chasm of darkness-night.
With the vigilance of Love,
You watched over me day and night.
As I lost the will to be resolute,
And my hope diminished,
I saw You enfolding and lifting me with pride.
Yon angels chanted, “Alleluia!”
And the celestial bugles resonated in my Spirit.
Who can equal Your supreme mercy?
You gave me limited freedom,
A most gracious boon which I abused, and yet,
This lily white; munificent heart of Ruth,
Pulled me by that unseen,
Yet blessed cord of deliverance.
Infusing me with Your copious Love,
You granted me sweet tranquillity and perfect joy.
Beloved, I see Your divine sport,
Dancing in the shadows as it does in Light.
Blowing away the cobwebs,
From an otherwise pristine Spirit.
I now cry through this struggle, with the fruits of Love supreme.
