Ode to The Mother Supreme. A Sonnet-Ode to All Mothers and Those to Be

Things that are authentic, elegant; immaculate …

Tend to rest in their own grandeur,

Unaware of the Hearts they stir.

Like the life-giving rays of the sun,

They offer themselves in Sacrifice,

Totally void of all expectations.

Look at the twinkling and shooting stars,

A profundity of beauty, touching our very Souls,

On a moonlit night. Can you imagine them elsewhere?

The replenishing and sustaining colours of the rainbow,

Serve only as healing balms, when reflecting from another sphere.

My Love; My Light; My Mother Supreme,

So too You entered the magnificence of my life,

Burning an effulgent fire; in the very Essence of my Being. – Manatita.

_Awakening The Inner Light ~

My Mother's Love and goodness.

My Mother's loving service was unique, and yes, most people's are, too. My Heart also goes out to those who were handicapped in one form or another, and the mother's-to-be. The Love Supreme knows its own reasons.

My Mother tried her best, initially single-handedly, and perhaps I have not done too badly. May our Beloved bless her life of strength, Faith, service and Sacrifice, while at times facing difficult odds. Glory be!

A Mother's Love

Did you sense or witness this in growing up?

  • She tried her hardest, taking account of the circumstances
  • No, I did not feel this way, but I have matured with age
  • Other
  • Why ask? I'm my Mother's own, very own
  • Most definitely

Lol... Very sorry, Manatita. I get carried away and lost in my own thoughts sometimes. You may delete my extremely long comment. I won't feel bad about it. :)

I like the old cliché, " Walk a mile in my shoes. " Most mothers do the best they can. God bless all mothers who must function under difficult situations. This is a beautiful tribute to all mothers.

Beautiful as always, but your two opening lines are really classic. The entire sonnet is so becoming of Mother and mothers.

Mothers are the backbone of humanity. At least mine is to me. She's taught me many things in life, including how to be accountable for myself. Mothers devote their lives to their children and often have to put their own dreams on hold. I'm forever grateful for my mom.
