Of Amber Waves and Kissing Babies .....

Don't forget to vote..........Just my Oppinion

What fools are we ....... holding up the child
for a' bought and paid ' for congressional kiss
Then sell away our country to the agendas
of a lobbied senatorial bliss

What nation can stand with it's
pride and honor intact
When we sell away our heritage our future
like a Chinese artifact

We had all better awaken soon and
come fully awake as well
For the vast majority of Americans are
on a train to hell

From sea to shining sea the masses
ply for entitlements and more
And at our feet the land is moving west
to join on China's shore

"Sold to the highest bidder" ........yes ..like a
slave on the block in in D.C.
And who cares anyway as long as the
cool-aid runs for free

There's a storm on the rise ......there's a
plague drifting upon the sea
Better change our attitude ......or say goodbye
to the land of the free

Felt your emotions in this wonderful poem! I may not be American as I immigrated at age 7 from South America but I am an American Citizen and regardless of what others say about America, I love this country as here we have so much opportunity. I am admit I am not patriotic, meaning I see us all as citizens of the earth. I am however glad to be on this side of the earth. :)

Violot Sun ,Marie , You my dear are as American as George Washington! We all came from somewhere else and we can only count our blessings for the gift and responsibilities of our freedom . Let no man ever say because you wern't born American , that you cannot be one. I can be a bit of a flag waver , but I love and respect all that we have here . And I dispise those who dis-respect our country by selling off our heritage one vote ,one lobbyist at a time. We need to regrasp our hold on our "representitive " congress. But....I won't rant ... anymore .....lol. Hugs to you my sweet friend!...:-}{

Ahorseback - I am impressed with the civilized fierceness of your convictions. It's so - there is a critical need for both personally practiced personal and national reestablishment of principles and true freedom. It's not to be found in a pre-packaged political platform, but in real commitment as individuals and as fully-conscious voters.

Nellieanna , Thank you my fair lady!....There are times when I'm not so civilized , as in my opinion of politicians for one. But civililities are by far the rule of the day! Will we ever learn ? ....:-}

Well, the civility I think of is the kind which emerges from the inside, based on genuine kindness & good will. I'm afraid I see far too little of that kind. I'm not too impressed with the fake kind, just to 'look good' and please some phony standard.

I thought you had contained your fury because of your inner goodness, even when affronted, which is the kind of civilized spirit which does impress me.

Hello, went for something a bit different than my usual ocean picks from you and was not disappointed :)

My favorite lines were

""Sold to the highest bidder" ........yes ..like a

slave on the block in D.C.

And who cares anyway as long as the

cool-aid runs for free"

Nice.
