Of tree houses and women..........poem

Okay so what young boy has never fallen in love
I did and her name was Ruthy
She wasn't gorgeous I mean she was a real brat
kind of ungainly and rather toothy

But that girl just loved my tree house and now looking back
how could I have known
That she'd marry some other guy
from my tree house coop she'd flown

I never understood I mean I even had a trap door
not enough to trap her though
Yet she would sit there for hours and chatter
I believed I was the one you know?

I would have married her for sure when I was nine
but Ruthie moved on and loved another
Should have known about that girl
she fell in love with my brother

To hell with them both and they are never
gonna set even one foot
In my tree house again "
I gave them both the boot

Awww ! How could Ruthy be so dumb! She did not see that she had a good thing going. Lovely poem, Ed.

Hi,

There is nothing sweeter than young love. One might forget many memories in life, but one always remembers the first one who made our hearts beat faster.

Memories are sweeter than Watermelon wine.

Well I must be a cynic here. Good riddance and poor brother. A gal who can't stay with you just for your tree house is suspect.
