Oh, my Gosh! It's December Again

It's the onset:

It's December already!

Granted it is only the first day of December and today's high temperature will be +50 Fahrenheit. But just look at what is coming: 12/2's high will be 31 F., followed by 12/3's 25 F., 12/4's 20 F., and 12/5's 22 F. And those last several days will have snow showers!

Granted the surrounding mountains already boast ski resorts which are open and thriving from November snow storms, much to the delight of skiers and snowboarders, and folks who sit in lodges sipping cocoa and other "invigorators".

How is it that Mother Nature knows that when the sun gets to setting at a particular point in the horizon, the calendar suddenly flips a page and the new page proclaims "Decembrrr!".

My own blood didn't know it was happening! My lingering remnants of last summer's tan seemed proof that it has to be too soon for the coming frigid blasts of Arctic air.

But here they come, right on time, just like clockwork, and once again it is "bundle up, and put up, or shut up" time.

Thankfully I still trust in that old saying which says that "What goes around, comes around."

And, it can't be anytime too soon until we get to "Febyoubrrraway".

Yep! Every year we moan it's getting so cold again, then in Summer it's too hot. It seems we never learn that it's always like that, that we can do nothing about it, that if we dress properly to suit each season we'll be fine! Is it that human nature just likes moaning or that we have nothing better to talk about? We still do it, year after year; maybe it's a tradition!

For me, December starts with one daughter's birthday, then it's all geared towards Christmas - events and thoughts to keep us warm throughout the month. Hope you have a good December and keep warm!

Well, today is 12/2 and it is at least 65 degrees where I live, but this weekend is supposed to be freezing. Why settle for Febyoubrrrawy when we can have Abrrrril? Gotta good laugh, anyway.

I can't believe its December either. Its the old saying the older you get the faster life passes you by. I don't like winter or summer. I miss spring and autumn but it seems these two seasons are short lived.

I like spring and autumn best too, they are just much too short. The perfect clothing weather too!

The mentioned "snow showers" have so far given us nearly a foot of "showered" SNOW! And: it isn't even Winter for another 16 days! Thanks for sharing the shock. Now it is time for boots, gloves, and long johns. Worst of all, it's time for snow shovels and shoveling!

Ah, so true. There is unusual arctic air here in Oklahoma this year. However, it will pass. I'm just hoping for a day where I can get out at a reasonable hour for pics of birds in a snow-covered branch.

lisavanvorst - Coming up on one of your two favorite seasons, so get ready to enjoy before it is over so fast.

Jackie Lynnley - Ditto for you, too. Sweater weather, right?
