On Why This Poet Is So Awesome!

Source

My muses and If wanted to search in the mind of this writer and why he has the ability to pen down words that can touch our own heart. We decided to make a stop in Canada. Again?

This area in Montreal is called Pointe-Saint-Charles , or the Point. A city that became a slum born from the Industrial Revolution of the 1860's. What we learnt is that this area was a share cropping Farm where Nuns built this Maison Saint Gabriel. If you read between the words and the city names you will..or can imagine that with no doubt, it became a melting pot of Irish, French Canadians and European immigrants(Italians, Polish) that wanted to make a future for themselves.

Churches from all denominations were built all over the area. Now this future Writer was exposed to so many intellectual sources. Surviving as an everyday goal shared with his half a dozen peers...and, 'the bogey man either in his closet or under his bed.' With a mother(mum) that for some reason wanted to move at least every 2 years. Food was fine...hmmm, macaroni, spaghetti, beans, ham, corn beef hash (spam) soup, stews, pigs feet, pea soup and cereal...and later on when cash was available Hamburgers and Hot dogs

. For some reason God and his angels were looking after him. On confirmation day, when he had his first baby, or when probably he kept a Bible from his local Church...wait a minute, did he steal it?

But that Black and white TV from the 1960's didn't cut it. The streets were better, Yo-yo contests... and Hockey games with no end. Fun after fun; no cable, no Nintendo, just the desire to live your existence.

Imagine him at 9 years old and on Valentine's day...he made a card for this little friend by the name of Wendy Forsyth, filled with pictures of little hearts and cupids. Now, He didn't know that she made one for him too (aww!)...but both were too shy to give them to one another. By God's grace, Angels hinted their friends and took care of the exchange. He remembers the crimson look in his face(Goodness gracious! Kelly and Tammy and Linda, and Marissa)...when they both met in class. The lack of a Father made him stronger too. Well, strong enough to get expelled out from High School for dropping or...for throwing a desk from the second floor classroom window. Ouch!!

Now, you are running the streets and nothing is stopping you, you don't even care much about schooling until one day he happens to be delivering some clothes for an old couple. He was exposed to the riches and...maybe he loved painting so much and his muses were growing with him. Soaking wet and hungry, he was offered some wonderful soup. He was beginning to believe in Guardian angels and probably heal from the brutality of this 'Sir' that was around his mum. Starting to heal from the pain that was in his heart, knowing that his only puppy by the name of Blacky was killed brutally by this Monster.

Now you see this friend exposed to all variety of experiences and senses. Pain, love, care, redemption. Well, at times he had to play his tough role in order to survive. There are so much to say from his biography, but we wanted to know the man behind the Quill. Ladies and Gentlemen...with out much ado and a green pea soup...

WHY SADDLERIDER1, KENNY OR, OUR 'BEST FRIEND', IS SO AWESOME!

  1. He is the Poet of Poets in the realm of Hub Pages
  2. He is a man with a heart
  3. He can bully you into loving him..even if you don't notice it
  4. He has made so many women sigh...(Long list..sorry!)
  5. He'd rather eat a homemade soup instead of a Sandwich
  6. He must've played as a stunt for Sean Connery and we never knew!!
  7. He wants to be an actor and probably will if he pass the word to some contacts
  8. He missed his Call to play a part in Kenny Rogers' video clip KEY LARGO!!
  9. He thinks is better to write with feeling than just feeling the writing
  10. He is a Christian since 1981
  11. He would never strike out at a woman with his fists and cause her bodily pain. Sorry ladies with an edge in intimacy... !
  12. He knows so well about the saying that...'every dog has its day' and...
  13. God acts in mysterious ways
  14. He has Mentors like George who passed in 92 and came back to him as his Muse when joining the Hubs and Mrs Schellenberg who taught him the value of the pen
  15. He learned to be a father in his own right
  16. He re-tweets your hubs and you don't even notice it, unless Melbel shouts it out##
  17. He has the biggest heart and
  18. When you become his friend, you better take his word
  19. Do not...!!Do not mention the words Dumbo around his 'fears.'
  20. We love him as a friend and he knows that
  21. He should have been given an especial award from HP for judging our creativity
  22. He believes that you will get accountable after you get your call from the 'Maker'
  23. If you invite him to dinner, he will check your Chandeliers and Portraits with certain nostalgia.... We can relate.
  24. He made a career as a truck driver; bye snow, bye away from home!
  25. We want to ask him, Who rides the Saddle?
  26. He has a repulse for old Bills, liquor and the stench of a miserable low life.
  27. He can actually feel your words and pen it down so well.
  28. His brother, separated at birth is Epiman! Different mums though.
  29. He can go from a good laugh to tears and back to giving you a hug! Wow it did rhym!
  30. He is a thankful man...after all!
  31. MARTIE COETSER POZYN is an adopted sister of his from cyberspace!!

Enjoy Kenny!!... Cheers!!

Wonderful job Lord! Ken is one my favorite poets and one of the first people that I followed here at Hubpages. I wish I had of know him when I lived in Montreal as we lived fairly close to each other. Who knows we may have passed by each other at one time or another.

Up and awesome all the way!

Hi Susan,

I owe a trip to Canada. One day I will! Researching a friend takes time and capture his/essence can be a task of big proportions. We don't want to contradict ourselves and them. All we do is remember things that they wrote and put it inot a nice narration. I can tell Montreal..or 'Mount real' might be a nice place to visit...I can go back to 1976 when the Olimpics took place there... Thanks Susan for stopping by and Honor our friend.

Great hub Lord. Saddle Rider is one of the most generous, kindest Hubbers I have encountered here. He is generous with his praise and helps groom other writers. Most sucessful published poets aren't as gracious with their time or as outgoing. He is a true inspiration, a very handsome man, a wonderful artist, and a real poet.

I hate to admit this, but I haven't taken the time to visit too many hubs, but that has changed tonight! I must find Saddle Rider and read all about him. Your write-up about him and the pictures have made me realize that maybe I shouldn't have "closed all doors" to finding a new love. IF there are real men like that still around and available, I want to meet at least one like that! Thanks for giving me hope that that's true. Best wishes to you for a wonderful 2012 and every success and happiness.

Dear Lord how you can flatter this Saddle. Your Muse does you proud my friend. Thank you for stopping by for a visit to The Point in Montreal. You dug up some memories for me here for sure. Your correct about the history of the immigrants that lived and populated there and yes the Nuns had a farm called La Maison Saint Gabriel. Gabby for short and my favorite brother-in law attended St Gabs School. Melting pot indeed, I developed quite the accent between the French, Italian, Brits, Scots and Irish. It was a slang only developed in that area of the city.

Lord I felt you were part of my family, you seemed to pick up on some of our habits and customs:-) We scratched for food and fought in the streets and yes I even stole the odd food stuff from the local grocer or butcher. I had deep pockets and they were not only for the mashed potatoes I stuffed in them. LoL. Aw Pigs feet one of our favorites along with split green pea made from the knuckles and any left over pork my mom could scrape off them.

You also touched on some very sensitive areas of my young life, I actually shed a tear reading your words my scribe. You brought me back to some bitter times, I draw from so many of those in my writings. Aw my dear Wendy, yes she did give me one and we were both very shy, yet I was so mad about her at that tender age. Not having the proper father at home, it took me down a hard path, my fists and my street smarts saved me from an early grave indeed. There where monsters in my life and it was not a pleasant upbringing at all, yet I managed to survive to be found by my Mentor George and after his passing he found me late in my life as my Muse.

You did indeed find the man behind the Quill, a hardened, soft, caring, loving and supportive friend when needed. I am honed and my steel edges are sharp, being a Scorpio my sting has hurt others at times and I have my regrets, my maker knows me well and will judge when the time is nigh. My senses are still alive and bright, I have my moments like most writers, and actually I am in a slump at the end of this fine year.

I will be heading to my cave soon to find my Muse and my inspiration. Thank you for the 30 awesome points, I am truly humbled. I am not deserving of such fine accolades, some yes, others not:-) I am simply a poet like so many others here at the hubs. I walk in the shadows of some giants and I am so honored to be amongst them and highlighted by you Sir Lord.

You are the man with a great HEART and SOUL. I am simply enjoying being part of the community here at the Hubs and do my best to offer up scribes that may have some appeal and interest to others. God does act in mysterious ways and I truly believe he was very instrumental in bringing my Muse from the shadows to teach me to write from my soul and thus I landed in Hub pages to lay it all down.

Thank you very very much for producing this Hub, I am blushing. I will do my best to continue to appeal to fellow hubbers and read, comment and guide others where and whenever I can. There is so much talent here and my friend you are one of those many talented who have a powerful Quill as well as a voice. Peace and blessings to you and a Happy New Year to you and yours, God bless you Sir Lord. I am deeply moved by your kind gesture to me the Saddle aka Vincent Moore.

Dear Lord you forgot to mention that Saddlerider is my brother in Cyberspace. He supported and guided me since the day I was born (in Cyberspace), and he had helped me through deep waters and up and down high hills, and he is still doing it. A short story of him was the first I read on my arrival, and ever since then I knew he was my brother.

Stepbrother.

We roam the skies in his Cyber truck and hug and kiss each other shamelessly, and sometimes I wish he was not so shy... One day, when I am big enough, I will ask him to marry me.

Serious, I’ve seen Saddle grown as a young, insecure writer into a giant poet, and as a man who believed he was not worthy of love into a king realizing he is loved by the citizens of Hubland just because he is who he is. I know he sometimes thinks he is supposed to please us in order to deserve our love, and he must feel anxious when his Muse does not provide the inspiration he needs, but I am sure he is slowly but certainly realizing that we merely need him to be among us as often as possible. He is such an inspiration for all of us – the living proof that a man can rise far-far above his unfortunate childhood and misfortunes in adulthood.

He can thank his lucky stars the Atlantic Ocean is between us, because if it was not the case, he would have had his hands too full with me to pick up a quill.

Dear Lord, this is, as always, a brilliant introduction of a hubber who deserves recognition. All thumbs UP!

You my friend have the gift of both looks, charm, wit and the ladies you have in your corner as well as the men. There is never a contest between us, I share whatever crumbs fall from your table to mine and humbly partake in your joy. Now all you ladies go wipe Epi's tears of joy, we must not have this poet crying into the New Year:-))

Well I couldn't resist coming back in to leave another comment, this one is for Phyllis. You have been a loyal follower of mine as I am yours. Not only are you a gifted writer and poet, you are a spiritual woman, with knowledge beyond anyone's expectations. You have often moved me to tears with your words. I am blessed to have found you and so happy to read your work here at the hubs.

Yes those petticoats were flying in that saloon that night, you had all the cowboy's up on their feet dancing to your beat. As for the ladies in my life? I am alone ranger, a reclusive type, twice bitten and now to distant to rediscover love. Although I love the scent of a woman and always need them in my life, I keep a safe distance, protecting my heart and thus my soul.

However having said that, I have much respect for the ladies and love to see them happy and in love. Every woman deep inside her is equipped with love, passion and sensuality that can captivate any man and knock him off his feet. I was once capable of being one of those men.

So my dear friend, I am humbled to call you friend, you are a true gem and like a few others I am honored to have found you. Hugs to you from the Saddle and a very blessed, healthy and Happy New Year 2012. Keep writing, you have the gift....

Lord I thank you again for posting this Hub and am truly humbled and with deep respect thank you sir for your kindness. It has brought forth many interesting comments and I am truly honored to receive warm wishes from my peers. I wish you all the best for 2012 and may your writings be plenty and fill the pages of Hubs so all can read and enjoy..

Phyllis Doyle profile image

Phyllis Doyle 4 years ago from High desert of Nevada.

Saddle, such beauty flows from your quill and from your heart. I know we are good friends, follow each other, and truly admire and appreciate each other's writing and gifts. I also know you are capable and worthy of love, to love and be loved. You are loved by many. There is still time and room in your life for great love and it will come to you -- when you are ready.

I am what I call in my third phase of life, have loved and lost, found my twin and lost him physically (yet he will always be with me in spirit). This is the time in my life when I thought love was no longer there for me yet it is. I found I am still capable and worthy of love and new love is blooming in my life -- it is joyous! He is a good man, knows about my twin, yet still gives me his heartfelt feelings and words of beauty.

It is there for you also, Ken. Sometimes that great and lasting love comes when we least expect it. Just please do not ever shut down -- she is out there and will find you.

I wish you all the best, many blessings, much success, and many hugs for 2012.

Lord, thank you again for opening up this hub to honor such a beautiful and compassionate poet and friend that we all love. I wish you all the best for 2012.

Keep on Keeping On, my friends -- and let those words of beauty forever flow from you quills and hearts.

Blessings and Love. May you all walk in Beauty, Peace, and Harmony.
