I Remember
From a Grown up Child to her Father!!
Waiting for the Evening to complete my perfect day,
Finally, litting up of my face on sight of your protective figure,
Just an assuring touch, warm blessings, a sweet smile, is what
O FATHER always a reason to celebrate.
I remember those days,
when I was an obedient kid and you in a happy state.
Fortunate, yes I was,
to learn from you varied manners and different ways,
To live a privileged life and develop a unique taste,
Playing badminton with you on holidays,
and sometimes a Sweet walk on weekdays.
I remember those days,
when I slept soundly to your ‘goodnight stories’
And morning was a sweet haste!!
In the reflections of memory, I saw all this and hailed,
Maybe time withered, but the accounts aren’t stale,
Ever inspiring me to achieve your dreams,
And motivating myself to resurrect what I was,
Rowing my boat constantly, impossible to reach though,
the destination may seem.
I remember you and Mum setting an aim for my purposeful Life,
for which I have to strive.

About This Poem
I had written this poem last year, on the occasion of some one special's birthday. The most special guy in any girl's life is her father, and this is dedicated to that special person in my life- my father. Even though he does not keep that well now, with age, and I am always worried for him. But this is for him, for encouraging my passion for writing.
