One Dark Night In The Middle Of The Day

One Dark Night In The Middle of The Day

It’s odd,

This confusion,

That perpetuates,

This illusion.

Surely we are all,

Bound by these laws,

But this man before you,

Never was.

I’m as much,

As I am certainly nil,

I am speed personified,

While perfectly still.

As surely it was,

In that bright midnight,

When the two deceased lads,

Arose to fight.

They faced each other,

Back to back,

Shot each other with swords,

And then made tracks.

And the noise of the boys,

Became more absurd,

As it was heard by a public servant,

Who couldn’t hear a word.

If you should ever doubt,

These words you hear,

Uncork some wine,

And have a beer.

Forget everything,

That you may teach,

Stifle me,

With freedom of speech,

Set me free,

Behind steel bars,

Heal me,

With freshly inflicted scars.

Reveal to the blind,

All there is to see,

Cover your ears,

And listen to me.

This man before you,

You swear you see,

He never was,

And never will be,
