One Of Those Moments

Source

Today I had one of those moments again

When thinking about how I felt back then

We both fell crazy in love

that summer night

And we kissed from dusk

until morning light

One day you told me

you're walking away

Because right now

you can not stay

You never gave me a reason to this

I was the only one who would miss

Those blue eyes of yours looking into mine

Telling me everything would be fine

Today I had one of those moments again

When thinking about how I felt back then

When I have those moments

of you in my head

I just want to cry

and lay down on my bed

Writing a poem

thinking of you

Is the only thing

that feels right to do

So, what would you think

about me today?

Now that things changed

you would probably stay

That's what you said

when you ran into me

But people change

And so do we

Let's move on from here

right now my friend

Because my intuition tells me

we'll meet in the end

It suddenly hit me today:

I had one of those moments again, when thinking about how I felt back then

I do believe we have all had one of those moments. Great job of eliciting memories in all of us. Wonderful poem, Made!

I truly yearn for HubPages to have an "Inspiring" button, because that's just what this poem is; inspiring. Great work by a great writer.

I really like the way this poem begins and flows. The yearning and nostalgia tinted with the sadness yet ends in an enlightened message.

' Today I had one of those moments again...' one of the best openers that says so much with so little. Voted up/ABI!

Made, Your poems continue to amaze me:)

Beautiful, Made! The oddest things can trigger those thoughts; a sight, a taste, a smell, a song, so many things. And the feelings can be so vivid too. Your poem expresses those times so well. Voted up and more!

The cadence and imagery and evocativeness of your words conjour up difficult, bittersweet memories. Awesome.

Docmo, that sentence just showed up in my head when I laid down to sleep. I had to get up in the middle of the night to write this poem. I must be crazy. Lol! Thank you.

Poetic Fool, I can see that you really understand what I mean here. I'm not sure what triggered it this time. I just know it made me want to write a poem.

Made, this poem is so full of yearning, sadness but also triggers in all of us reading, the recognition that we understand what you are describing - and when those moments occur, everything just comes back like it was yesterday - a sinking feeling then sets in....great poem, voted up, etc, etc.

Jools99, you are so right about that. Thank you for taking time to read, comment and vote. It's much appreciated. :)

This poem is filled with compassion and love for another, partners in the crimes of obsession. I like how you flavor your words to make them feel more personal.

I could only wish to be able to do this, because it isn't easy, you must truly love someone in a very unique way to appeal to the reader using poetry in this way. Awesome job!

Voted up and getting shared everywhere possible, and thanks for the visit to my hub as well recently you have scored another devoted follower for sure Made, nice one!

....just lovely lovely writing - sometimes writing (and I often take this approach in my own style) doesen't have to be flashy or over the top to get your point or feeling across - and in these simple words of yearning and longing - of love lost and love found - I can see/read a master of poetry who writes from the heart and her beautiful mind.

epigramman, sometimes I've been wondering if it's easier to reach out to more people with writing simple poetry. If I had a bigger English vocabulary, I would probably write poetry in a different way.

This poetry writer, who I've become, really appreciates epigramman's lovely words. Thank you! :)

Poetry is a gift that came from special feelings gained from poetry shared by another, perhaps when we were young. This poem could be about that Muse which has you getting out of bed to write this, and the feeling that would come, if the Muse withdrew for awhile. Poems, like the kisser in that early verse, can excite all night and create such feelings. Wishing you speedy progress in finishing your house, so that HubPages is elevated to #3

Perspycaciuos, you're right about what you're saying. I'm aiming for #3. I'm not sure when I'll get there. Thank you! :)
